MUSIC INSPIRES US!

Above is a photograph of the instructors at this past year's Mountain Dulcimer Week held at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Students come from as far away as California and the State of Washington to attend week long classes from beginner to advanced in Appalachian and hammered dulcimer playing. Sponsored by Shenandoah University as part of its nationally known reputation and commitment to music education, the week long workshop is organized by Jo Miller of Shenandoah University and coordinated by Madeline MacNeil and Ralph Lee Smith. The instructors for this past year's workshop, in the picture from left to right, were: Molly McCormack, Larry Conger, Leo Kretzner, Madeline MacNeil, Ralph Lee Smith, and Ken Longfield. Next year's Mountain Dulcimer Week at Shenandoah University will be held on July 12-16, 2010.
